dresden plate....

after surfing blogs all last week i decided it was time to branch out, try something new! isnt she fabulous??? a dresden plate.....i love this potholder!

it took me all weekend....but i did it. i bought the tool on friday, stared at fabrics on saturday (even shuffled them around a little), and sunday dove in head first. it was a really easy block to make. they are piddly....but go together really fast! the bamboo tool is a must!

for the back i just used some fabric to match blocks on the front.
the best part was getting to take fun pictures outdoors!!!

have you seen the new moda fabrics called "half moon"? all black n whites.......i cant wait to use some of them!

oooo, are you my potholder pass III partner? Please? It is so beautiful. Did you applique the plate onto the background by machine or hand? Did you sew from middle out, or outside edge in? Inquiring minds NEED to know!

I bought that wedge ruler, too, and have all my fabrics to make a 'modern' dresden plate sampler for our bed...now when to get started?
