FNSI results

heres my pincushion donut. it looks so real ....
i didnt put the beads on because i wasnt sure if i wanted the colors i had bought (in the bag pictured). i might go on the hunt tomorrow for some diff colors of beads.

it isnt very big....LOL.

i also stopped at my LQS while running errands early in the evening and bought this kit. its an owl pincushion from Bunny Hill Designs called Bitty Owl. the quilt store had an adorable one made up and the heart in the center was the make life fabric from sweetwater. (see my kit). i just couldnt resist!

keeping calm...

last night i had my own little "sew-in"......after a busy week i decided to take some time for myself and relax. my family left and went to a baseball game so i had the entire night alone. WOW that never happens around my house. i figured the most calming way to relax is embroidering. i kicked my feet up, watched the movie MIRACLE with Kurt Russell and made this pillow cover. (i love his ND/MN accent in that movie--plus hockey is just the coolest sport ever!)

i wish you could see the colors of the fabric....pics never do them justice. its a medium gray with the daisy's and i found a gray gingham for the backing. the embroidery is almost the same color as the yellow/green in the daisy. i heart this pillow :)

Friday Night Sew-In results...

im in love with the "keep calm" sayings. i finished stitching this one last night and added the red polka dot border. its going to be a pillow case for my pillow swap :)

im also in love with the red/aqua color combos. the new line "bliss" looks like it will be a new fav of mine in aug/sept when its released.

this is another project i was working on but didnt get far. its going to be a potholder with a dresden plate design.

i always seem to have a crazy night on the FNSI. i spent half my night helping a friend move some furniture, going to dinner, picking up a kid from his 5th grade sea world trip (how fun) and waiting up for curfew. but atleast i managed to get some done on a few of my projects.

today im going to spend some quality time with some family in town. BBQ time baby!

Tea Towel

i had a little extra time today and thought of a quick small project for myself. its a tea towel for my kitchen. i had bought a pack of these a few weeks back. while making this i decided to maybe work on some xmas ones during the year and give them as gifts to coworkers. I found a few adorable xmas patterns.....simple too.

my question is.....where do you find white plain tea towels. not the flour sacks (too thin and large). anyone???

i love this towel.....cuz i DO heart ND! my homestate will always be in my heart even though ill never live there again. im sure i will stay south where know one has ever heard the phrase "alberta clipper" or "uffda".

ive been working on a small stitchery....i figured to get myself into it and get my stitching down, id start small and simple. guess what it is???

I got the BEST package in the mail today!!! how can i even begin to say THANK YOU to Jamie for such a thoughtful gift? She sent me a starter kit to begin stitching/embroidery. look at it all! (tips, designs already on fabric, thread, needles, this book below, a hoop and more!)
this is REALLY cool! its a homemade book for needles and thread. I LOVE this!!! My family will thank you because im bad at losing needles. I have been lucky tho, no trips to the ER yet to get a needle out of anyones foot. (knock on wood)
